102. What Gets Under My Skin? MY Tiny Joys & Banes (2025)

I like to try and start each year with a Q&Tay, but I'm not at the level yet where people have many questions for me so I thought I'd do what we call in showbiz "a pivot" and start each year by bringing my old reliable buddy Henry HIckman onto the pod and discussing as many tiny Joys and Banes as we can get through in 40 minutes,

Joys:

1. Hitting the drive-thru after a social event.
2. Chocolate bars after they’ve been refrigerated.
3. Breaking the seal on a bowl of dip.
4. Punching this one specific spot on my boxing bag that makes a great sound.
5. Re-experiencing via the internet comics, movies, tv shows, video games etc that I wasn’t able to as a kid.
6. Checking a packet of food / candy / mints and seeing that there’s still 50% or more left.

Banes:

1. When a pedestrian crossing light changes too early and you have to run to make it over in time.
2. Spam emails when you’re waiting for an important or stressful email to come in.
3. When one of your body hairs snags on a tight fitting piece of clothing and it feels like you’re being stabbed by a tiny pin.
4. Having to repeat myself when I feel like I very clearly and directly communicated something.
5. When a company adds you to their mailing list after rejecting a job application you submitted.
